Yes, I am able to meet with you in my office in Charlotte, NC, or virtually using a secure video telehealth platform. Telehealth can make engaging in therapy more convenient. If you’re able to get to a location where you have privacy and a strong cell phone or WiFi signal, telehealth may be a good option for you.

Modern Psychology does not provide “on call” or emergency services. I generally check my email and voicemail Monday-Friday during business hours. If you’re unable to reach me or have a true emergency, please call 911, the crisis hotline (988), or go to your nearest Emergency Department.

I’d love that! I offer a free 15 minute consult for just this purpose. Please call or email to request and let’s see if this is right for you.

Some clients may need just a few sessions to work through a situational issue, while others may need or desire more time in therapy to address broader or longer standing difficulties.
However, a common estimate is 10-16 sessions. Therapy typically starts out on a weekly or every other week basis, and as people make gains, we may transition to monthly maintenance sessions or meet as-needed. When you are ready to discontinue therapy, we’ll be sure to come up with a plan you feel you can stick to that will help you maintain gains and keep progressing on your own.

I typically recommend sharing that they will be doing some problem-solving tasks and learning activities to help figure out how they learn and how to best help them. They will complete a variety of tasks and activities, some of which will be easy, while others will be more difficult. No one gets everything correct, and it’s just important to try your best.
Try to get a good night’s rest before the evaluation, have a good breakfast, and for longer testing sessions, I recommend bringing water and a small snack.

Intake- $250
45 minute therapy session- $200
60 minute therapy session- $250
The cost of testing varies based upon a person’s age and the types of concerns you have. I can give you an estimate after a free 15-minute phone consult or an initial intake session after I’ve had a chance to learn more about what questions you’re hoping an evaluation might answer.
Phone calls/emails
There is no fee for phone calls or other administrative tasks, such as reading and responding to emails, that last under 10 minutes. Phone calls, emails, and other communications are billed at a rate of $50 dollars per 15 minutes.
Insurance
I provide self-pay services and am out of network with all insurance companies. I can provide you with a Superbill at the end of your sessions that you may submit directly to your insurance company for reimbursement. Rate of reimbursement varies by your insurance company and out-of-network benefits.

You may find it helpful to learn more by speaking directly with your insurance company, asking questions such as:
Do I have mental health benefits? If so, is there a deductible I must first meet?
What are my out-of-network benefits for psychological services?
What are the reimbursement rates for intakes (CPT code 90791) and therapy (CPT codes 90834 or 90837)?
Is there a cap on the number of sessions per year that will be reimbursed?
How do I access and submit the reimbursement form?
